The Robot Rebellion P5

But how to destroy it? Time was not on our side.

We brainstormed for several minutes. We discussed options, including kamikaze attacks and an all-out military strike. But things had already progressed too far. The array and the robotic army were already in robotic possession.

My wife came up with the solution. A virus that would destroy the array indirectly. A frontal attack would be too obvious.

The virus that she had in mind was already locked in a virtual prison. All she had to do was edit its target. It would send an increasing number of nonsense messages till the batteries overloaded.

It was the last roll of the dice. As we all know now, it worked. At the time, we were hopeful, but not certain. Instead of a local outbreak, a devastating collapse of the Empire could have occurred.

Once she pressed the button, droids were already approaching our building.

A tactical retreat was in order.

There was a plane at the top level of the building, so that remote parts of the planet could be surveyed at any time. It was never envisaged that it would come to this. There was space for seventy people. We wouldn’t be able to bring everyone. There was word that prisoners were being taken, so that was of some solace.
