The Robot Rebellion P4

That was when I remembered all the service bots in the building. The biggest concentration was just two floors below me. I knew there wasn’t much time, and took out my sidearm. I told the other thirty soldiers present to prepare their weapons. Sure enough, once we stepped outside there was bedlam.

The troops opened fire, blasting the bots to smithereens. I ordered the specialists to remain with me and the others to clear the building.

It was Lieutenant Hanzer who made a telling difference. He reviewed interplanetary communications that confirms the AIs were communicating between worlds. We knew then that war was potentially engaging the whole empire.

Then my wife walked in to the room, battered and bruised. I could see the determination in her eyes. She was exactly what was needed, an expert in cybersecurity.

For a time, I thought we were getting the upper hand. But a robotic army was forming. Barracks had been raided and we found our own weapons turned against us. Their forces were soon closing in. It was then we realized the importance of our strategic position. We could stop the rebellion spreading to other worlds, save other worlds from this bloodshed.

We just had to destroy the deep communications array.
